Obituary for Alfred Zalabak (1910-1984)

Alfred Edward ZALABAK of Hawk Point, passed away just past midnight April 8, 1984 in St. John’s Mercy Hospital, St. Louis County, Mo. He was 73 years of age.

Funeral services were held at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning, April 10, 1984 from the Hawk Point Chapel, Kemper Marsh Funeral Home, conducted by Fr. Anthony Scholten. Interment was in the Hawk Point City Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Donald E. ZALABAK, David HENNINGFELD, Dennis HENNINGFELD, Edward SCHIEFFER, Russell SCHIEFFER and Ronald ZALABAK. Honorary casket bearers were Jeff ZALABAK, Dwayne HENNINGFELD, and Dannie HENNINGFELD. All active and honorary casket bearers were grandsons.

Mr. ZALABAK was born at Hawk Point, Mo. August 17, 1910, the son of Edward Vincel and Agnes KERPASH ZALABAK. He was married August 6, 1931 to Miss Carminetta WOMBLE and she survives. He is also survived by four children, Mrs. Albert (Betty Lou) SCHIEFFER of Troy, William C. ZALABAK of St. Charles, Mo., Mrs. Victor (Donna) HENNINGFELD of Old Monroe, Mo., and Leon Ray ZALABAK of Orlando, Florida, 18 grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren-in-law (sic?), one sister, Mrs. Lorene LINKOGEL, one niece, his wife’s sister, nieces and nephews, a number of cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Mr. ZALABAK was a retired section foreman with the Burlington Northwestern Railroad. He was baptized in the Catholic faith.
