Shapleigh Ross WOOLFOLK
Born 23 June 1825
Died 24 Oct 1901

Mr. WOOLFOLK was a native of St. Charles Co., Mo. and was a son of John Allen WOOLFOLK, who came to that County from Ky. about the year 1820.  When he was about 11 years old, his parents came to Troy and this place was his home the remainder of his life.   He was married to Miss Susan C. BRAGG, July 10, 1855, and united with the Presbyterian Church in the year of 1858.  He was an elder in the church for over 35 years ..

Mr. WOOLFOLK was elected Co.Treasurer in 1858 and served 8 years.  In 1866 he was elected sheriff and collector and served two terms. Also engaged in merchandising and later in the lumber business.......

He leaves to mourn 4 children - Mrs. Frank HOWELL, Misses Mary and Cynthia and Dr. E. S. WOOLFOLK; two brothers, Richard, of Virginia, and A. C., of Troy, and one sister, Mrs. Mary J. BLOCK, of St. Louis.

Funeral Services were conducted at the family residence Sat. p.m. 3 o'clock by Rev. B. D. KENNEDY. ....The remains were then borne to the city cemetery and laid to rest in the family lot.
