Earl Witthaus

 

HANNIBAL—Services for Earl Lewis Witthaus, 74, of 317 N. 3rd, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Southside Baptist church.  The Rev. Steve Veg will be in charge, with burial in Grand View Burial Park.

 

Mr. Witthaus died 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in a local hospital.

 

He was born June 18, 1902 in Lincoln County, to Herman and Edith Hewitt Witthaus.  He was married to Mary McCleery on October 29, 1927 in Louisiana, and she survives.

 

Also surviving are two sons, Leroy and Raymond, both of Hannibal; two daughters Mrs. Genevieve Adrian, of Palmyra, and Mrs. Elizabeth Monroe, of Hannibal; one sister, Mrs. Iva Dennison, of Hannibal; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

 

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

 

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Thursday at Clark Funeral Home and from noon until time of services Friday at the church.

 

Pallbearers are John Miller, William Kelly, Nick Booth, Howard Creech, Douglas Cox and Ralph Clark.

We extend our deepest appreciation to the many friends, neighbors and relatives for their acts of kindness shown our loved one during his recent illness and our bereavement.  A special thanks to Dr. P. Avila, Dr. Walterscheid, the Staff

of Levering Hospital, Brother Steve Veg, Clark Funeral Home, Casket Bearers, those who sent cards, flowers, food and all who helped lighten our sorrow.  May God bless each and every one of you.
