Doris Jean WIELMS passed from this life into the presence of the Living God Sept. 22, 1980 at the age of 37. She was born May 14, 1943 in Eolia, Mo. to Harvey and Catherine CONNER.

Doris married George WIELMS on April 7, 1960 in East St. Louis. They made their home in the Moscow Mills and rural Troy area. To this union three sons were born: Rodney Eugene 1961, Roger Duane 1966, and Brian Keith 1971.

For the past 8 years Doris had been employed by the Leta Cross Real Estate and Tax Service in Troy where she had been assistant manager of the tax service as well as having a Brokers license. She was also a member of the T.O.P.S. Club #M0502 at Wright City, was a committee member of Boy Scout Troop 390 of Troy, a past member of Owen Olive Extension Club and the Elizabeth Wilkinson club.

Doris very actively took part in her children’s activities frequently attending scout meetings, baseball or football with them.

She will be sadly missed by many and long remembered as someone you could always count on to pitch in and help get the job done.

She is survived by her devoted husband, George and her three sons of the home, Rodney, Roger, and Brian; her mother, Catherine CHILDERS and her step-father, Raymond CHILDERS of St. Louis; her father, Harvey CONNER and her step-mother, Ruth CONNER of Sullivan; one brother, Franklin CONNER of DeSoto; one sister, Catherine CLINTON of DeSoto, two half-sisters: Trina and Rebecca CONNER of Sullivan; six step-sisters: Marsha FREDRICKSON of Jefferson County, Elayne CHILDERS of Belfontaine Neighbors, Gwendolyn KRAMER of Cool Valley, Margaret KAUCHER of Ferguson, Christine and Melissa CHILDERS of St. Louis; three step-brothers: Marc CHILDERS of Florissant, Frank CHILDERS of DeSoto, and David SPROUSE of Tennessee; her mother-in-law, Althea PEITZMAN of Moscow Mills; her aunts: Lorene KLUSCHULTE of Thorton, Colo., Maxine McKENZIE of Columbia, Mo., Edna PITTS of Bloomfield, Mo., Lorene HALE and Margaret JONES of Dexter, Mo. and Betty PAYNE of McGee, Mo.; her uncles, A.J. CONNER of Rockport, Ill., Ralph CONNER of Toppenish, Wash., Roy CONNER and Carl CONNER of Puxico, Mo., Francis CONNER of Melba, Idaho, Claudie CONNER and Howard CONNER of Troy; plus numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

Services were held Friday, Sept. 26, at the Assembly of God Church in Troy with the Rev. Larry Donelson officiating. Interment was in Zoar Cemetery at Wright City. Pallbearers were the brothers-in-law: Bill CLINTON, Ricky SCHULTE, Harry WIELMS, Raymond LENK, Tom ROBERTS and Robert STEWART.
