Obituary for Oscar Westhoff (1922-1980)

Oscar Ambrose WESTHOFF, of Moscow Mills was born July 11, 1922, at Chain of Rocks, Mo., the son of Henry and Anna KALMANN WESTHOFF. He passed away suddenly on July 5, 1980 while working on his farm near Moscow Mills.

Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, July 8 from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy, Father Eugene Bendel of Flint Hill, Mo. officiating. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

On March 24, 1941 he was married to Leona BRAUNGARDT, who survives. Other survivors are one son, Oscar A. Jr., of Georgia; four daughters: Mary Lou THOMPSON, Betty Ann SCHULZE and Brenda Lee THORNHILL, all of Troy and Dorothy Jean HERRING of Georgia; one brother, Walter WESTHOFF of O’Fallon, Mo.; one sister, Irene BURKEMPER of Old Monroe, Mo.; nine grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He will be sadly missed by his family and the many, many friends who knew and loved him.

The pallbearers were Gary KRIEG, Harry KEETEMAN, Fred GRANNEMAN, Johnny BUSCH, Tim WESTHOFF and Bryan OSTMAN. McCoy-Paul Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
