Obituary for Viola Weitkamp (1906-1979)

Viola P. WEITKAMP, daughter of Freeman and Mary HUSMANN IRWIN, was born near Troy, Missouri on August 8, 1906. She departed this life January 6, 1979, while a patient at Lincoln County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. WEITKAMP’s life spanned 72 years 4 months and 29 days.

Her early years were spent in the Linns Mill neighborhood.

On February 16, 1927, she was united in marriage to Clarence WEITKAMP, after which time they moved to a farm near Troy where she lived the majority of her life. Viola and Clarence WEITKAMP were blessed with the births of two children: a son, George and a daughter, Anna Marie.

Viola WEITKAMP is survived by her husband, Clarence: her son, George and his wife, Virginia; her daughter, Anna Marie and her husband, Glenn CREECH; her granddaughter, Nancy Ann WEITKAMP; brother-in-law, Marvin WEITKAMP and his wife, Maimie; two sisters-in-law, Mary and Ida WEITKAMP; two nieces, Mrs. Irene SANDERS and Mrs. Mary Lou IRWIN and a number of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Henry and William IRWIN; a sister, Addie and her husband, Charles REYNOLDS; sister-in-law, Rose IRWIN; granddaughter, Donna Kay WEITKAMP; and nephew, Wilford IRWIN.

Viola WEITKAMP was a member of Zion United Church of Christ where she remained an active member as long as her health permitted.

Funeral services were held from the McCoy-Paul Funeral Home in Troy, Monday, January 8, 1979, Rev. Stephen A. Hall officiating.

The pallbearers were Raymond FIETH, Don FIETH, Elmer SCHULTE, Jonnie SCHULTE, Roger GRONEFELD and Louis HEITMAN. Mrs. Robert Hall was the organist.

Burial was in the E&R Cemetery in Troy, Mo.
