Obituary for Laura Freidricka Weitkamp (1901-1976)

Laura Freidericka KLEIN WEITKAMP was born near Moscow Mills, Mo., on September 7, 1901. She was the daughter of William KLEIN and his wife Meta (nee) SCHEMMER. She was baptized and confirmed in Friedens Evangelical Church of Moscow Mills, now Friedens United Church of Christ. She taught in the church school and sang in the church choir.

On November 14, 1923, she was united in marriage to Fred C. WEITKAMP. To this union were born to sons. The family made their home on a farm near Moscow Mills until retirement when they moved to Wentzville.

On January 26, 1976, Mrs. WEITKAMP died at the Katie Jane Home in Warrenton. She was 74 years, 4 months and 19 days of age. Mrs. WEITKAMP is survived by her husband, Fred; by her two sons: Howard WEITKAMP and his wife, Mary, of St. Charles, Missouri; and Edward WEITKAMP and his wife, Malli Vee, of Wentzville, Mo.; by one brother, William KLEIN, of Moscow Mills; and by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives and many friends.

The Rev. Dwight Borden, pastor of Friedens United Church of Christ, conducted funeral services for Mrs. WEITKAMP at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 28, 1976, from the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home in Troy. Lester Schloemann was the soloist and Mrs. Lois Marsh was the organist.

Interment was in the Anderson Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills, Mo. Casket bearers were Bob GIESMANN, Arlie SCHEMMER, Ora BUENEMANN, Herman SCHEMMER, Ernie BUENEMANN and Leland WITT.
