John Melvin WEITKAMP was born September 5, 1925 to Edwin and Leah CREECH WEITKAMP. He passed away at the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Troy, Missouri, on Friday, June 25, 1982, at the age of 56.

He was proceded in death by his mother and father, and wife, Glenda.

He was married February 9, 1980 to Delores MEYER TWELLMAN, who survives along with five stepchildren: Barbara STANEK and her husband, Roger of Hawk Point; Ron TWELLMAN of Troy; Jim TWELLMAN and wife Rosanne of O’Fallon; Margaret KOPP and her husband, Hibbard of Troy; Robin WOODWARD and her husband, Charles of Gainesville, Fla.; six step-grandchildren: Laurie and Jeff STANEK; Jason and Dennis KOPP; Timothy and Anthony WOODWARD.

Also surviving are the following aunts and uncles Onelta FREUND; Ernie and Mary Jane WEITKAMP; Amanda and Herbert WESTERMAN; Jessie WEITKAMP; Annie NAU and Rose CAWTHORN; his mother-in-law, Lora MEYER; his wife’s sisters and brother: Lorraine GERDIMAN and her husband, Frederick; Leona WINTER and her husband, William; and John E. MEYER and his wife, Margaret along with many other relatives and friends.

Melvin was employed at Warrenton Products and also farmed for many years. He loved the outdoors and was happiest when he and his three dogs could be together on the farm. He was a loving, caring person and will be sadly missed by his wife and family.

Visitation was at the Douglas Brown Mortuary in Wright City with Interment in the Friedens United Church of Christ Cemetery in Moscow Mills. Officiating at the Christian Science service was Mrs. Augusta Peters DEAN.

Casket bearers were Marvin SCHUBERT, Richard RAMEY, Norman VOEPEL, Roger STANEK, Ron TWELLMAN, and Jim TWELLMAN.
