Amiel August WEITKAMP, former Moscow Mills Postmaster, died at the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital in Troy, Saturday morning, July 29th, where he had been a patient since the preceding Tuesday.

Funeral services for Mr. WEITKAMP were held from the Moscow Mills United Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor the Rev. Lester Zacher. Mrs. David Rayfield was the organist and Mrs. Paul Coerver and Mrs. William Price were the vocalists.

Interment was in the Anderson Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Marion BOCKHORST, Ogle WILSON, Floyd THORNHILL, Leslie EVERSMEYER, Vernett SHAFER, Leon WEBB, Harold HILL, and Lawrence ROBINSON.

Mr. WEITKAMP, who was 75 years of age, was born in Lincoln County, May 12, 1897, the son of August and Ida KARRENBROCK WEITKAMP. Nov. 8, 1924 he was married to Miss Eva SARTY of Moscow Mills, who survives.

After serving in World War I, he became Postmaster of Moscow Mills and held that position for 23 years. He then became employed as a Railway Mail Clerk. He retired from that work in 1964 and in 1965, he went to work for the Storment Oil Co. in Wentzville, where he worked until July of 1971, He was an active member of the Moscow Mills United Methodist Church.

Other than his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Howard (Jean) WEBB of Fremont, Calif., and Mrs. Clyde (Audrey) JUSTUS of Cook, Nebraska; six grandchildren, one great-grandson, two brothers, Edwin and Ernie WEITKAMP, of Wright City; two sisters, Mrs. Anna NAU, Moscow Mills, and Mrs. Herbert (Amanda) WESTERMAN, Bellflower, other relatives and many friends.

Arrangements were through the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home.
