G.L. THURMAN DIES

G. L. THURMAN, one of Troy's most highly esteemed and popular citizens, and a favorite auctioneer throughout Lincoln County, died at 6:15 o'clock wednesday afternoon at his home in Troy. He was 87 years old.

Mr. THURMAN had been rapidly failing in health for about three months past, but had only been confined to his bed for the past two days. Death came from the infirmities of age.

There was never a more genial nor likeable man in Troy than "Uncle Lem" as Mr. THURMAN was best known to all his friends..... he leaves two daughters, Miss Zula THURMAN, principal of the Troy Grade School, and Mrs. Jas. PORTER also of Troy. His wife preceded him in death a little more than eleven years ago.

Funeral services will be held at Troy Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will be in the city cemetery.
