Annie Laura THORNHILL

On Wednesday, May 19, death entered the home of J. R. THORNHILL and wife and claimed their daughter, ANNIE LAURA. She was 16 years old and from the date of her birth, May 6,1899, she was a special and precious care in the home. She was never really healthy and well and for this reason the chords of parental love and affection were closely entwined about her. The mother was never too frail, sick or tired to heed a call from this precious one. Social events were denied, attendance on church services were secondary to the ministering of this loving child. Her brothers and sisters loved her dearly and made her life just as cheery and happy as they could by kindly deeds and tender words.

Many valuable lessons were learned by all the family from this little household pet. She was a precious child mind, gentle and bore her affliction with great fortitude. When death relieved her from suffering the family said. "She has done what she could." and were willing to surrender her into the hands of an allwise and loving heavenly Father. The funeral services were held at the home and around the flower-covered mound in the THORNHILL cemetery and was attended by a large company of sympathizing friends.

"A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled; A place is vacant at the fire-side That never can be filled." M.D.D.
