Kansas Publication Gives Account of Former Lin. Countian's Death.

The Marshall Co. News, pub. at Marysville, Ks. carried the following account concerning the death of EUGENE WARREN TAYLOR son of Mr. & Mrs. Frank TAYLOR of Briscoe neighborhood.

Funeral services for Eugene Warren TAYLOR, 42, highly popular ass. chief dispatcher of the Union Pacific system there who died  of  heart disease Thurs. p.m. at a local hospital, were held Sat. a.m. at the Methodist Church in this city.
The end came to Mr.TAYLOR unexpectedly. He was in apparent good health previous to the attack. He left his home  509  N.12th Street, about 3 p.m. to go downtown on an errand. While downtown he stopped at a local drug store where he complained of not feeling well. Later at the dispatcher's office he said he was not well and from there he went to the hospital. A short time later the end came.
He was born Mar.7, 1900 in Okete, MO. where he lived until he was 18 years old. At that time he went to Chillicothe, Mo. where he attended business college. Before he finished the course he was recommended by the president of the college as asssistant in railroad work. As  a result  he was called into service by the Union Pacific, going to Omaha from which place he was assigned to Linsborg as station helper. After being there about 10 mns. he was sent back to Black Wolf as station agent. It was there he met & Nov. 21, 1920, md. Miss Mary Louise  LANE.  Following his marriage, he was transferred to Junction City, as operator. He then moved to various points, one of them being Onaga. There he was on the night shift from 12 midnight until 8:oo a.m. Since he had gone from grade school to  business college he wanted a high school education. So upon leaving his work in the morning, he ate breakfast & attending high school until 2 p.m.. he then took his rest.
Through this procedure he was able to finish high school course in 3 years.
Twelve years ago he was transferred here as a dispatcher. He also has served in the same capacity at Salina & Kansas City. For the past 5 years he & his family made Marysville their home. He was an active worker in the Methodist Church & Sunday School. Often
times he would work most of the Saturday nights & be on hand to teach a Sunday School class Sunday mornings. He had been a member of the Methodist Church, South since 1912. Since the Methodist churches have merged into one group. He was steward in the church.
Mr. TAYLOR was a ardent camera fan for many years, & at the time of his death was a member of the Union Pacific Camera Club. As recent as a day before his death he & his family  took a ride into the country at which time he took his camera along.
Survivng are his widow; his son Eugene Warren TAYLOR Jr. of the home; his daus.,Mary Ann & Patricia Louise TAYLOR, both of the home; his sisters, Mrs. A.B.CHANDLER, & Mrs. Meryln [Frances DaDa she would say da da instead of daddy j.g she is still living, I wish to go see her] both ofTroy, Mo; his parents, Frank & Alice DRYDEN TAYLOR, Briscoe, Mo. and many other relatives.
