Obituary for Joseph Sullenger (1830-1904)

Mr. JOSEPH SULLENGER died at his home in Troy, Mo., on Monday morning, July 11, 1904. He had been in declining health for some time. Being conscious of his condition, like a wise man he set his house in order that he might go in peace. He was born in Henry County, Kentucky, Oct. 28, 1830, thus making him in his 74th year. He came to Lincoln County, Missouri, with his parents while a mere lad and here spent his life. He was married to Mrs. Mary FRANK on Nov. 21, 1883. Uniting with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Auburn, Mo. in 1886. When he came to Troy in 1893 he was made a deacon in the Presbyterian Church at this place, which office he occupied at the time of his death. He leaves a wife and a number of neices and nephews to mourn their loss. A devoted husband, a good citizen, a faithful friend has gone to receive his reward of those to whom it is said , "Come, ye blessed of my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."------ Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the late home of the deceased by Rev. B. D. Kennedy and the remains to Mill Creek Cem( near Silex--j.g.)
