Mrs. C. J. STEFFEN

Mrs. C.J.STEFFEN died from the effects of a surgical operation in St. Louis on Thursday night of last week. The operation was performed Thursday afternoon and she apparently came out of it all right. Her husband was with her at the time and she insisted on his coming home and staying with the children, reminding him that she would have every necessary attention while she was in the hospital. The doctors, too, seconded this suggestion, and Mr. STEFFEN came home that afternoon. That night his wife died. The body was brought to Troy and was interred in the Lutheran cemetery Sunday. Mrs. STEFFEN was an excellentt lady and her untimely death is deeply deplored. Her husband and children have the sympathy of the community in their great loss.
