John SPATAFORA, well known and highly respected Troy businessman died at 1:58 Thursday morning, June 17 at the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Troy, Mo. He was 67 years of age.

Funeral services will be at 10 o’clock Saturday morning, June 19, 1982 from the Asbury Chapel, Foley, Mo. The Rev. Kenneth Gray, pastor of the New Salem Baptist Church will be the minister in charge. Interment will be in the Troy City Cemetery.

Mr. SPATAFORA was born in St. Louis County, Mo., July 24, 1914, the son of Joe and Grace BABELLO SPATAFORA. He was married to Miss Stella Lee GRAHAM Sept. 2, 1939, and she survives. He is also survived by one son, Joe SPATAFORA and his wife Dianna of Kingdom City, Mo.; two granddaughters, Sandra and Karen Lee SPATAFORA and one grandson, Joe SPATAFORA and his wife, Kim, all of Kingdom City; one brother, Custer SPATAFORA of Winfield, and one sister, Virginia MELLITELLO of St. Louis; other relatives and many friends.

Mr. SPATAFORA and his family came to Troy in 1955. In 1956 he purchased the John Deere Implement Co. of Troy and operated this for 17 years. He was a member of the Troy Chamber of Commerce and was named Man of the Year by that organization in 1971. While in business in Troy he was also a member of the Troy Rotary Club. He served two years as Presiding Judge in Lincoln County and later was Superintendent of the Lincoln County Highway Department.

He was a strong supporter of the Lincoln County Town and Country Youth Fair.
