Obituary for Mrs. Margaret Ann Rinaman Smith (1849-1916)
The Troy Free Press, Troy, MO, 29 December, 1916, page 1, column 2.

The death of Mrs. Welty SMITH, near Troy, last Saturday evening removed from her family and from a wide circle of warm friends a noble Christian woman - quiet, kindly, unassuming - a home-loving, home-making mother and wife of the sort that is the "salt of the earth." She raised eight sons and three daughters and had the joy of seeing all of them become useful, honorable citizens. All of Mrs. SMITH's life was spent in this vicinity and her death was the first to break the family circle of thirteen members. Her funeral was held at her home Monday morning and the remains laid to rest in the city cemetery, her eight sons acting as pallbearers. An obituary will be printed next week on this good woman.
