ALBERT SHAFER

Services for Albert Cordell SHAFER were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Carter-Ricks Funeral home at Elsberry. The Rev. Terry Gallamore, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiated with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Mr. SHAFER, 68, died Sept. 8, 1988, in Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Troy. Born Aug. 9, 1920, in Detroit, ILL., he was the son of the late Joseph and Sarah PHILLIPS SHAFER. In 1917, he was married in Bowling Green to Nettie Lucille CREECH, who died in 1975. Mr. SHAFER was a retired mechanic.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Richard ( Mildred ) SIMPSON of Foley, Mrs. Donald ( Edna ) GRINDSTAFF and Jo Ann HOWARTH, both of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren

Mr. Shafer 77, passed away Sept 8.

He was born August 9,1911. He was married to Nettie Lucille CREECH in 1937 who preceded him in death on Sept. 10,1975..
