Troy Free Press (Troy, Lincoln Co, MO), Friday, May 29, 1931.
From the collection of Patty (Jamerson) Archer.

Millwood

Mrs. Mary RUNKLES, nee KOSTER [sic], widow of the late James RUNKLES, died at the home of her son, Louis RUNKLES, Friday, and was buried here Saturday, May 23rd. Had she lived until September, she would have been 72 years of age. She had been a patient sufferer from cancer for several years. She leaves her son Louis, his wife, several grandchildren, and a large number of relatives and friends to mourn her passing. We sympathize with the bereaved.

[NOTE: Mary would've actually been about 79 years old at the time of her death. She was the daughter of William & Mary Ann "Polly" (Kinion) Koster. She married James T. Runkles on Oct. 22, 1889 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood. She had one son, Lewis Wilhelm Runkles. Mary was buried at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.]
