Laura Pane ROSE, daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah GADBERRY, was born near Moscow Mills on June 30, 1862, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lennie CLUNY, in Moscow Mills, on August 11, 1944, at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 11 days. She was one of four children all of whom have passed on to their heavenly home. Her mother died when she was quite young and she helped to care for her smaller brothers and sister.

She was married to James ROSE on October 24,1883. To this union four children were born--Jesse, of St Louis; Mabel, now Mrs. CLUNY, of Moscow Mills; Mina, now Mrs. John CALDWELL, of St. Louis; and John, of Omaha, Neb. Her husband preceded her in death 10 years ago.

Her entire life was spent near Moscow Mills, where she enjoyed the friendship of everyone. Her life was an open book and her many good deeds and kind words will always linger in our memory.

During the last three years of her life, she was tenderly cared for by her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Len CLUNY. She suffered severely the last four weeks of her life, having fallen from a porch and suffered a fracture of her shoulder.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her four children, and great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Her funeral service was held Monday morning, August 14, at the Sacred Heart Church in Troy, conducted by Rev. W.J.Drimped. Interment was made in the Sacred Heart cemetery by the side of her husband, to await the resurrection morn. The Pallbearers were her friends and relatives: J.E.Carter, William Nau, William Goos, Paul Lester, John Caldwell, and Derwood Rose

" What a blessing to know that she is in heaven No sorrows , no pain to bear. No earthly burdens, no tears to shed, Sweetly resting in Jesus' care. "

- K. J.C.
