Mr. F. Rose, father of Prof. Horace Rose, C. S. Commissioner is lying very low near here with paralysis, with no hope of recovery.

Later -- Since writing the above, Mr. Rose has died on the 27th of April. Mr. Rose in his life time figures considerably as a county official. He was a magistrate in Monroe township for 18 successive years; was also a county collector for two years, serving the years of 1834 and 1835. He came to this county from Kentucky in 1817 and has been a resident for 69 years. He was born September 5th, 1804 and was 80 years, 7 months and 22 days at the time of his death. As he had been bedfast for some time suffering immensely, his death was only a relief from his suffering. -Grasshopper Jim
