DEATH OF MRS. R. M. REED

Mrs. R. M. REED, whose death was briefly noted in the Democrat last week, was formerly Miss Martha Washington HOWDESHELL, daughter of David and Polly HOWDESHELL. She was born March 14, 1848, and died February 16, 1926, after a lingering illness extending over a period of about 10 months. She was married to Robert M. REED November 28, 1867. They had no children of their own, but were foster parents of the late Robert TILLOTSON, whose daughter, Miss Vecie TILLOTSON, now of Denver, Colo., became to them as their own grandchild.

Mrs. REED professed faith in her Savior when 18 years of age and united with the Mill Creek Baptist Church, later transferring her membership to Whiteside Baptist Church.......

She is survived by her husband, her foster granddaughter, and three sisters, Mrs. Nan REED, Mrs. Alice MORRIS, and Mrs. Tom MORRIS , besides a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at Mill Creek Baptist Church on Wednesday of last week and interment was made in the nearby cemetery at conclusion of services conducted by Rev. W.B. Williams. Mrs. REED's exact age was 77 years and 28 days.
