Funeral services for Obert Walter RAY, Jr., age 51 of Bellville, Ill., will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, November 21, 1982, from the Church of God in Christ, Troy. Interment will be in the Troy City Cemetery.

Mr. RAY passed away in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, Tuesday morning, November 16 following a rather lengthy illness.

He was born in Troy, Mo., June 17, 1929, the son of Obert Walter, Sr. and Bernice SHELTON RAY. He was married to Julia MALONE and she survives. He is also survived by three children: Kathaleen Bernice RAY of London, England, Tera Lynne RAY and Amanda Elizabeth RAY of Belleville, and one step-daughter, Tammy Danielle TOBIN; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Vera DRYDEN, Mrs. Juanita SIMMONS, both of Troy, Mo., Mrs. Hazel WALKER of Wentzville, Mo., Edward Eugene RAY of Troy, Fred RAY of O’Fallon, Mo., Miss Constance RAY of Troy, Mrs. Mae GILLETTE of St. Charles, Mo., and Reginald SHANNON of Springfield, Ill.; other relatives and many friends.

Mr. RAY owned and operated O.W. Ray Auto Brokers of East St. Louis for about 25 years. He was also a member of the Belleville City Police Auxiliary.

Visitation will be at the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home in Troy from 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon until the time of the services Sunday.
