Bowling Green Oct. 4, 1907 - June 29, 2005

BOWLING GREEN - Arline Pollard, 97, of Bowling Green, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at the Moore Pike Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at the White Rose Baptist Church in Bowling Green with the Pastor H.J. McCoy officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bowling Green.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 4, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.

Mrs. Pollard was born Oct. 4, 1907, in Apex, the daughter of Charlie and Sarah Shipp Collins.

She was married to the Rev. Joseph Pollard on July 22, 1933, in Chicago, Ill. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Smith of Bowling Green; one sister, Jessie Mae Wise; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Walter Reed; and two sisters, Maxine Brown and Evetta Thomas.

Mrs. Pollard was born and raised in Elsberry. She was a member of the White Rose Baptist Church, holding several titles through the years - church secretary, clerk and treasurer. She was a Sunday school teacher as well as being involved in Vacation Bible School. She was in the Red Circle Girls mission group, and was very active in the Mount Carmel District and the Missouri Baptist State Association.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Pallbearers will be Earl McPike, Tyrone McPike, Jerome McPike, Bobbie Thomas, Donnie Hendreck, and Frankie Thomas.
