MR. MORGAN PIERCE died last Friday of chronic Bright's disease, caused by taking half a teacupful of turpentine about two years ago. The immediate cause of death was uraemic coma, in which state he gave up the ghost, quietly, resistlessly and without knowing it, and had reached the yonder shore of Jordan and the Gates Ajar ere he was aware that the undulations of the sable stream he had entered several hours before had heralded his approach and that the judgement bar was at hand.
