Obituary for Joseph Page (1838-1904)
Troy Free Press, (Troy, Lincoln County, MO.), Friday, March 4, 1904, Page 1, Col 3.
From the collection of the Hockmans.

One of our aged and worthy citizens passed to rest last Wednesday Feb. 24, in the person of Uncle Joe PAGE. He had suffered for several days from a complication of lagrippe and other troubles. He leaves a wife and several grown children and a host of sorrowing friends. His remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery at Troy, as he was a Catholic in faith.

[Transcriber's notes:  I ordered from the State Historical Society of Missouri, my g. grandfather's newspaper obit. Lauren Leeman, Ref. Specialist, sent me a copy of the Friday, 4 Mar 1904 Troy Free Press Newspaper, page 1, Col. 3. My g. grandfather was Joseph PAGE, Lincoln Co., MO. (b. 1838 in Ireland; d. 24 Feb. 1904.) The wife he left behind was Tennessee Barnes Mumford PAGE. The grown children were: Johanna PAGE (Mrs. Hugh TURPIN and William Henry PAGE, (my grandfather). Those children were born to Mr. PAGE and his first wife Mary M. KINION (formerly the wife of Charles Kinion, who died from a rabid dog bite in 1860). Joseph PAGE's three children with Tennessee PAGE were Fred T. PAGE, Sarah Elizabeth PAGE, and Mayme PAGE (Mrs. J. B. 'Birch' HUMPHREY). He was preceded in death by his eldest son John F. PAGE. {The Mrs. Humphrey listed in the newspaper was the 1st wife of Birch Humphrey - not Mayme Page Humphrey}.]
