Lee Ellis NORTON

It is with much regret that I tell of the death of my friend, Lee E. NORTON, who died Oct. 14, 1905, after suffering many months of consumption. He was born Aug. 7, 1877, and was married in Montgomery County to Lydia CORNELIUS, daughter of Mrs. Lucy CORNELIUS, Dec. 10, 1902. To this union was born one son, Cornelius Lee, who died in his infancy six or seven months ago.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. J. Eames at the old home, near Mackville, where Lee spent all his life except two or three years, which was spent in St. Louis. He was spoken of as a noble young man, being a total abstainer from intoxicating drinks. In speaking of his own death he said he regretted leaving his young wife but had no regret in dying.

I ask the tender mercy of the Divine Heart for him and extend my sympathy to his wife. May she be comforted by the most tender of hearts, the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Lee's father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Will NORTON, and his brother Will, survive him . Besides them his wife has her own mother, four sisters and four brothers to sympathize with her. He was buried in Sulphur Lick Monday afternoon. By his own request Messrs. Edd and Birch Humphrey, Henry and Joe Black and Will and Charles Quigley acted as pall bearers.----a Friend.
