Obituary for Roberta (Bobbie) Nolan  (1938-2000)

            Funeral services for Roberta (Bobbie) June NOLAN, of Vandalia, Mo., were held Friday, June 23, 2000, at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia.  The Revs. Ken Jarvis and Bob Balwanz officiated.  Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Vandalia.

            Pallbearers were Gary NOLAN, Bruce JOHNSON, David DUNARD, John DUNARD, Al WORTMAN and Bob DUNARD.  Honorary pallbearers were Michael FLYNN, Aaron FLYNN and Ted BUENEMAN.

            Mrs. NOLAN, 61, died June 20, 2000, at the Tri-County Care Center.

            Born June 29, 1938, in Troy, she was the daughter of Ora and Helen WESTERMAN BUENEMAN.  She married Robert Allen NOLAN on Sept. 6, 1986 in Vandalia.

            Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert Allen NOLAN who died Sept. 17, 1999.

            She is survived by her parents, Ora and Helen BUENEMAN of Troy; four sons, Earl RODGERS, Hannibal, Eric RODGERS, Monroe City, Elton RODGERS, Columbia, and E.J. RODGERS of Jefferson City; one step-daughter, Robyn NOLAN LYBARGER of Laddonia; one brother, Irvin BUENEMAN, Troy; one sister, Velma DUNARD, Troy; four grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

            Mrs. NOLAN was a cook for the Ralls County R-II School District for over 20 years before retirement in 1997.  She attended the First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia and also was a member of the Centerette Club in Center as well as a member of the Mark Twain Multiple Sclerosis Society for many years.  She loved being around her family and friends and enjoyed several different arts and crafts.

            Visitation was held June 22 at the Holt Funeral Home in Vandalia.  A prayer service was held at the funeral home officiated by Rev. Marvin Jones.

            Memorials for Mrs. NOLAN are to be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in care of the Holt Funeral Home, Vandalia.
