Obituary for Henry Hermann William Niehaus  (1895-1972)

            Henry Hermann William NIEHAUS was born near Troy, Mo., June 2, 1895, the son of Henry G. and Elizabeth WISSMANN NIEHAUS.  He passed away in the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Troy, Mo., May 6, 1972 at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 4 days.

            Mr. NIEHAUS lived most of his life on the farm on which he was born.   A few years ago, he moved to Moscow Mills, Mo.  

            He was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical faith.

            In 1935, when the Bank of Troy was organized, Mr. NIEHAUS became on of the original directors of the bank, and served in that capacity the rest of his life.   He served as president of the Bank of Troy for ten years, and three years ago, retired as president, and became Chairman of the Board.   He was serving as Chairman at the time of his death.

            Mr. NIEHAUS was a member of the Troy 100F Lodge No. 68, and had received his 50 year pin from that organization.

            Preceding him in death, other than his parents, were three sisters: Julia, who died when quite young, Minnie and Anna Marie NIEHAUS.  He is survived by one brother, Fred and his wife, Jessie NIEHAUS, of O’Fallon, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Mamie KARRENBROCK, of Moscow Mills, Mo., niece and nephews, other relatives and innumerable friends.

            The Rev. Lester Zacher conducted funeral services for Mr. NIEHAUS Tuesday afternoon, May 9th, 1972, from the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home.  Miss Cheri LaRue was the organist.  Interment was in the Troy E&R Cemetery.

            Casket bearers were Kenneth CAMPBELL, Nestor REICHGERT, Bill NIEHAUS, R.H. BROWN, John DOWELL, and Ora BUENEMAN.
