Henry William MUNZEL was born July 4, 1890, near Moscow Mills, Mo., one of the eight children of William and Elizabeth HAMPEL MUNZEL. He passed away at his home in Moscow Mills, Sunday morning, October 3, 1971, at the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 29 days.

September 1, 1915, he was united in marriage to Miss Ellen Barbara ADELHARDT. They became the parents of a daughter and a son. Mrs. MUNZEL passed away March 4, 1947.

December 14, 1957, Mr. MUNZEL was married to Mrs. Lottie BERGESCH. She passed away December 1, 1968.

He was baptized September 27, 1890, and was confirmed into the Evangelical faith in the Friedens E&R Church of Moscow Mills.

Preceding Mr. MUNZEL in death, other than his wives and his parents, were four sisters: Anna and Mary MUNZEL, Mrs. Lena BUSCH and Mrs. Ida WATSON, and two brothers, John and William.

He is survived by his daughter, Darline and her husband, Ray TWELLMANN, of Moscow Mills, and his son Warren, of St. Louis; two grandsons, Ronald TWELLMANN and Dean TWELLMANN and his wife, Anna Lee; one great-grandson, Craig TWELLMANN; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie BUENEMAN, of Troy; three step-children: Bill BERGESCH and his wife, Ann, of St. Louis, Ruth and her husband, Glendon MONTGOMERY, of Troy, and Eva and her husband, John BOOHER, of Foristell, Mo.; several step-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law: Mrs. G.L. MANNZ, of Troy, Ill., Mrs. Walter ROTH, of St. Louis, and Mrs. William HAMPEL, of Troy, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Walter ROTH, of St. Louis, a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and innumerable friends.

Funeral services for Mr. MUNZEL were Oct. 5, 1971, from the Friedens United Church of Christ in Moscow Mills, by the pastor, Rev. Wayne Nowack. In accordance with Mr. MUNZEL’s wishes, the bell of the church was tolled as the funeral left the church.

Interment was in the Anderson Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Bobby THORNHILL, Miller BRAUNGARDT, Vernette SHAFER, Jr., Bill THOMAS, Jimmy JONES and Edwin STRASSEMEIER.

Arrangements were through the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home of Troy.
