Wencker Louis MEYER, widely known Lincoln County and St. Charles County farmer, passed away at his residence on Eagle Fork Farms, Moscow Mills, Friday evening, September 27, 1985. He was 78 years of age. Mr. MEYER had been ill for about six months.

A memorial sevice for Mr. MEYER will be held at the Jack KINKER home on Eagle Fork Farms Friday evening, October 4, 1985, starting at 5:30. The Rev. Jim Williams will officiate.

Wencker Louis MEYER was born on Eagle Fork Farms, Moscow Mills, March 10, 1907, the son of Judge Charles William and Julia Bertha WENCKER MEYER. On April 22, 1933 he was married to Miss Mary Margaret ANSELM of Wentzville. She survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Jacqueline) KINKER of Eagle Fork Farms, one son, Charles Wencker MEYER of Sault St. Marie, Michigan, one granddaughter, two grandsons, one sister, Miss Carolyn MEYER of Eagle Fork Farms, other relatives and innumerable friends.

Mr. MEYER graduated from the University of Missouri in 1929 with a degree in Agriculture. He was a member of the following fraternities: Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Gama Sigma, Alpha Zeta and the Roughnecks.

Mr. MEYER was a charter member of the Lincoln County Farm Bureau, and served several terms as president of that organization. He helped establish the Lincoln County Farm Bureau Insurance Co. and the Lincoln County Farm Bureau Service Co., and served for many years on the Service Company Board. He contributed much to the work of both the Lincoln County Farm Bureau and the Missouri Farm Bureau during his years of membership.

He was very active in the Republican Party.

Mr. MEYER was a conservationist and opened part of Eagle Fork Farms to the propogation of wild turkeys in southern Lincoln County.

Arrangements for Mr. MEYER’s memorial service are through the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home of Troy.
