Obituary for John Frederick Meyer (1864-1930)

Troy Free Press, Troy, Lincoln County, MO.


John Frederick MEYER was born in St. Louis February 16, 1864, and died near Moscow Mills December 5, 1930, at the age of 66 years 9 mos. and 19 days. He was the son of John and Louise MEYER. There were only two children, himself and a brother, Louis, of Holden, Mo., who survives.

He was married October 3, 1889 to Miss Wilomine RAHMEIER. To this union five children were born, namely: Henry, of St. Louis; Lizzie, wife of Joe GENZLING, Moscow Mills; Wilomine, wife of John JUSTUS, St. Louis; and William and Ernie, Moscow.

He was two years of age when he moved to Lincoln county, where he spent his entire live and made many friends. He was a true Christian and held membership at the Moscow Evangelical church. He leaves to mourn his departure, his devoted wife, his five children, one brother, and a number of other relatives and friends.

Truly a good neighbor, a devoted husband and loving father has gone to his reward.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Moscow Evangelical church, Rev. W. H. Sabbert officiating. Interment was made in the Anderson-Hill cemetery.
