Obituary for Kenneth Mette (1928-1976)

Kenneth J. METTE, 48 year old Moscow Mills resident, passed away in the St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Charles, Mo., April 21, 1976. He entered the hospital earlier in the week.

Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted from the Moscow Mills United Methodist Church at 1 o’clock Saturday, April 24th, by the pastor, Rev. Lester Zacher. Mr. Mike Woods is the soloist and Mrs. Ken Jameson is the organist.

Interment will be in the Anderson Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills. Casket bearers are Bill CAPPEL, Vernett SHAFER, Miller BRAUNGARDT, Howard SIEVERT, Jim MARTIN and Bill ALBERS.

Mr. METTE was born at Howell, Mo., Feb. 24, 1928. He was the son of Henry and Anna THIELEMAN METTE.

He married to the former Miss Fay MARTIN, who survives. He is also survived by one son, Harold METTE of Avon, Conn.; one grandson, Kenneth METTE of Avon; seven brothers, Donald of Alexandria, Va., Oscar of Wentzville, Louis of Truxton, Ray of Riverside, Calif., Lee of Moscow Mills, Frank of St. Charles and Henry of Moscow Mills; three sisters, Mrs. Dora DAVIS and Mrs. Ivy KELCH, both of St. Louis and Miss Mary METTE of Defiance, Mo.

Mr. METTE was a sheet metal worker for the McDonnell Douglas Corp. He was a member of the Moscow Mills United Methodist Church and the Moscow Mills Masonic Lodge No. 558. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Piedmont.
