Funeral services for Clem F. MENSE, 85, of Old Monroe, were held at 10 a.m. November 12 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Old Monroe, officiated by Rev. Father Frances MATYAS. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. MENSE died November 9, 1982 at Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Troy.

He was born January 21, 1897 at Old Monroe, to Christian and Wilhelmina DOBELMANN MENSE. He was married May 6, 1924 at Flint Hill to Laura L. SMITH and she survives.

Preceding Mr. MENSE in death were one daughter, Alice BERG, two brothers, Edward and George MENSE and one sister, Mary BURKEMPER.

Surviving besides his wife, Laura, are two sons: Irvin MENSE of Warrenton and Robert MENSE of Atlanta; two daughters: Norma CLEMENS of Affton and Maurine PIKE of Cincinnati, Ohio; twenty-seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers; John MENSE of St. Louis and Louis MENSE, Old Monroe; two sisters: Elizabeth FREDERICK, St. Louis and Ann WOOD of Belle; and other relatives.

Mr. MENSE was an army veteran of World War I and past member of the American Legion. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

Arrangements were handled through Carter-Ricks Funeral Home of Winfield.
