OBITUARY – A. H. MEADOWS

Alfred Hamilton MEADOWS was born near Brevator, Lincoln County, Mo., May 12, 1873 and departed this life December 4, 1939 at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 22 days.

He was married to Miss Mintie ELSTON, December 23, 1897. To this union were born six children, four of whom died in infancy. Those remaining are: Claude Roy MEADOWS of St. Charles and Mrs. Lorene Sunshine WHITTON of St. Louis.

Mr. MEADOWS united with the New Salem Baptist Church at the age of 18 years, and later moved his membership to Winfield where he remained a faithful member the remainder of his life.

He leaves to survive him his wife, two children, two half-brothers, Willet and Obie MEADOWS, one grandchild, Yvonne WHITTON, some cousins, and a host of friends.

He was a kind, loving husband and father, and to those who knew him best, a good neighbor.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, December 6, at the Winfield Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Otis DIXON, and burial was in the New Salem Cemetery.
