Mrs. Nancy Jane (LANGFORD) McMAHAN, wife of Wm. McMAHAN, residing near Troy, died quite suddenly last Friday evening about 11:30 o'clock at the age of 66 years, 4 months and 26 days. She retired that evening feeling well as usual and was taken sick during the night, and died in a short time. Mrs.McMAHAN had been a patient sufferer for ten years, but bore her affliction with Christian fortitude, being hopeful to the last.

She was born near Wright City in Warren County October 27, 1846, and March 27, 1865 she was married to Wm. McMAHAN. To this union were born seven children, five of whom with the husband survive, Mrs. Lizzie YOUNG, of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Vinnie MAGRUDER, Lee, Lawrence and Riley, all of this county. She joined the Methodist church at Sugar Ceek in 1866. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the Sugar Creek church, conducted by Rev. Merton A. West and the remains laid to rest in the Thornhill Cemetery.
