Cards of Thanks

We wish to thank our friends for their aid and sympathy during the illness and after the death of our dear husband and brother - Mrs. Levi McCLELLAN, Mrs. Sarah CLUNY, Mrs. Ellen HOLCOMB.

[ Transcriber's Notes: Levi McClellan was the son of William & Sarah Ann McClellan. He was born Dec. 22, 1864 and died Jan. 6, 1925 (on tombstone, but obituary is in the January 2nd issue, so must've died on or prior to that date). He married Sophronia Catherine "Kate" Koester on October 31, 1882 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood, Lincoln County, Missouri. Uncle Levi was a nice man and after two of Kate's sisters, Ellen Elizabeth (Koester) Holcomb (wife of Leonard Holcomb) & Sarah Frances (Koester) Cluny (wife of Daniel Cluny), were widowed, allowed them to move into their home. Levi & Kate never had any children of their own. Kate was always sickly and it was surprising that Uncle Levi died first. Kate was born Nov. 8, 1862 and died Jan. 15, 1941. They are both buried in the Sulphur Lick Cemetery.

The Koester girls were the children of William & Mary Ann "Polly" (Kinion) Koster. William & Polly's children were: Mary Frances (married James Runkles), Margaret Augusta (never married, died at age 19), Ellen Elizabeth (married Leonard Holcomb), Sarah Frances (married Daniel Cluny), John William Thomason (married Mary Ellen "Molly" Slater), Sophronia Catherine "Kate" (married Levi McClellan), Elizabeth Ann "Ann" (married Thomas F. McGee), Lutisia "Lucy" (married Albert Wesley "Wesley" Britton), Bridget Amelia (died at age 7), Rebecca (died as infant) & Rachel (died as infant). Mary Ann "Polly" (Kinion) Koster was the daughter of William Riley & Rachel Rebecca (Cox) Kinion. ]
