William Lewis MARTIN, life long resident of Moscow Mills, passed away in the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital in Troy, Mo., Saturday morning, Sept. 2, 1972, where he had been a patient for a few days.

Funeral services were conducted from the Moscow Mills United Methodist Church by the pastor, the Rev. Lester Zacher. Miss Cheri LaRue was the organist.

Interment was in the Anderson Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills. Casket bearers were Ernie LEITMAN, Eddie BROYLES, Marion BOCKHORST, Billy Bob CAPPEL, Dave HUMPHREY and D.D. HUMPHREY.

Mr. MARTIN, who was 80 years of age, was born near Moscow Mills, Mo., November 2, 1891, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William S. MARTIN. He was married to the former Miss Florence Edna SARTY of Moscow Mills, November 3, 1915. Mrs. MARTIN passed away this past June 28.

Mr. MARTIN lived on a farm most of his life. However, he had worked for the State Highway Department several years, and was also a machinist for Wagner Electric Co., in St. Louis.

Surviving Mr. MARTIN are two daughters, Mrs. George (Retha) BERGESCH and Mrs. Kenneth (Fay) METTE, both of Moscow Mills; three grandchildren, Mrs. Donald (Janice) COX, Stacey BERGESCH and Harold METTE; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Claude MARTIN of Bismark, North Dakota, and Harvey MARTIN of Moscow Mills; three sisters, Mrs. Nona ADMIRE of Mexico, Mo., Mrs. Ray (Arlene) CORBIN, of Ottawa, Kansasm and Mrs. Mac (Berniece) McCONNELL of Independence, Mo., and other relatives.

Mr. MARTIN had been a member of the Moscow Mills Lodge No. 558, A.F.& A.M. for forty-four years. He had also served that lodge as Master. Masonic services for Mr. MARTIN were conducted Sunday evening from Kemper Marsh Funeral Home by members of the Moscow Mills and Troy Lodges. John Kuhne was the acting Master.
