Troy Free Press (Troy, Lincoln Co. MO).
From the papers of Mary Omahundro Hutt Walker

Leonard Strickland JAMESON, son of William and Mary Nancy JAMESON, was born near Troy, May 20, 1894, and departed this life near the place of his birth Sep. 28, 1950, at the age of 56 years, 4 months and 7 days. On June 18, 1919 he united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Agnes MONTGOMERY. This union was blessed with four children: Margaret Lucile, who preceeded him in death; Paul E. and Mrs. Earl STUCKEY, of St. Louis, and Wm. G. of the home. These children, with the wife, remain to mourn his passing.

Mr. JAMESON was one of four children, all whom have preceeded him in death but one brother, Arthur, who resides in Troy. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and a host of friends. On October 2, 1917, he answered the call of his country during WW I, and served overseas for 15 months. During this time he suffered several severe wounds which troubled him the rest of his life.

He made his confession of faith in his Christ during his army service and upon his return to his homeland was baptized by Bro. Dudley into the congregation of New Galilee, where he remained a true and faithful member until his death. He was also a valued and loved member of Lincoln County Post 94 of the American Legion. It can truly be said of Leonard that he was a true husband, a loving, kind father, and a man all were proud to call friend. We cannot help but feel that the world has been a better place to live in due to lives like his among us. Troy Free Press.---no dateline----
