Funeral sevices for Floyd Francis (Sis) IVES of Silex, Mo., were held Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home, Troy. Rev. Gary E. Berry officiated. Debbie Mudd was the organist and accompanied Margie Schwendemann.

Pallbearers were Don KOVIAK, Kent GILBERT, James GILBERT, Nancy (Fern) FISHER and Linda Kay BARNES. Honorary pallbearers were Crystal HALL, Scott HALL, Amy GROTE, Michael WRIEDT, Jennifer WRIEDT, Wayne RICHARDSON, Jeff RICHARDSON, Gail LANGENECKER, June BRICKNER, Alice KOVIAK and Gladys LANGENECKER.

Mrs. IVES, 81, died at 2 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at her residence near Silex.

Born Feb. 3, 1918, at Bellflower, Mo., she was the daughter of Eliphlet and Myrtle ARTHER GILBERT. She was married Sept. 11, 1948 to Albert D. IVES in Troy. He died Jan. 13, 1980.

During WWII she had worked at the TNT Plant in Weldon Springs and earned her cap in nursing in 1947. She and her husband operated an egg and cream station in Hawk Point and also farmed. Mrs. IVES had worked at Gossard Garment Factory in Troy and in 1973 she started working at Jones & Vining in Troy as a lathe operator. She had been a member and shop steward of Local 655. In 1993, at age 75 she retired. Over the years, Mrs. IVES had been active in 4-H as a club leader and project leader. Also past member of the Millwood Culture Extension Club and St. Alphonsus Sewing Club and a charter member of Silex Owls Booster Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; an infant son, Gilbert G. IVES; mother-in-law, Lapetta Geneva IVES and father-in-law, George IVES; five brothers, Original S. GILBERT, John C.GILBERT, James A. GILBERT, Arther Wm. GILBERT and Eliphlet B. GILBERT, Jr., and one sister, Ruby L. COLBERT.

Survivors include one daughter, Kay HALL and her husband, Bennie of Silex; one son, Alan F. IVES and his wife, Bobbie of Silex; one sister, Gladys LANGENECKER and her husband, Dene of Silex; grandchildren, Crystal HALL and Scott HALL and Amy GROTE of Silex; step-grandchildren, Michael WRIEDT and Jennifer WRIEDT of Silex; Wayne RICHARDSON and wife, Mary and sons, Eric and Alec of Troy and Jeff RICHARDSON and wife Michelle and daughter, Taylor of St. Charles and dear friend and former daughter-in-law, June BRICKNER and husband, Bob of Lake St. Louis; three sisters-in-law, Gladys GILBERT, Vera Mae GILBERT, both of Bellflower and Donna Lee GILBERT of Montgomery City; a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation was held Friday and Saturday at the McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home, Troy.
