OBITUARY

William Massie HUTT passed away suddenly, Thursday, November 27, 1958, at about 12:00 p.m. at his home in Briscoe, Mo. He had reached the age of 74 years, 4 months and 11 days.

He was the son of Richard B. and Jennie MCKAY HUTT, and was born at the family homestead near Troy, Mo., on July 16, 1884, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Jessie RUSSELL on November 2, 1912, at Troy. The couple established their home on a farm in the Troy community. Three children were born to them, Richard W. of Las Vegas, Nevada, Lee Russell of Troy, and Mrs. Lilly Virginia Hilton, of Troy. He was engaged in the occupation of farming in the vicinity of Troy until declining health made necessary his retirement some years ago. They lived in Briscoe the past ten years.

He was converted and united with the Troy Christian Church in early manhood, and had served as a deacon for a number of years. He is survived by his devoted wife, his two sons, and daughter; seven granddaughters, and two great granddaughters; one sister, Mrs. Mary O. WALKER, of Troy. (One brother, Oscar HUTT, preceded him in death in 1925). Also surviving are a number of other relatives and many friends.

Uncle "Willie" was of a quiet friendly disposition, always ready with a smile, friendly greeting, for his friends and loved ones when they called for a visit with him. Funeral services were conducted from the Kemper-Marsh Funeral Home in Troy, Monday, December 1st, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. J. K. East, officiated assisted by Rev. C.C. Ham. Pall bearers were: Hurley Walker, Porter Owen, Homor Page, Kenneth Wells, Derwood Wells and Charles Hardy. O'Garlan Ricks Funeral Director, was assisted by Joseph Marsh. Interment was in the Troy City Cemetery.
