Funeral services for William Madison HINES of Old Monroe were held Sunday at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, Winfield. Rev. Gary Schulte, pastor of the St. Paul United Church of Christ officiated and burial was in St. Charles Memorial Gardens, St. Charles.

Mr. HINES, 73, passed away May 23, 1985 at his farm near Old Monroe. He was born July 24, 1911 in Polaski County, Ky. the son of John Will and Minnie BRYANT HINES. On June 29, 1941 he was married in Wright City to Bernice WEDEMEYER HINES. He was a member of the Union Local No.2 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in St. Louis.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons: John of Old Monroe and Jerry of Wright City; a daughter-in-law, Jeannie HINES of Wright City; two brothers, Roy HINES of Lockland, Oh. and Ray HINES of Middletown, Oh.; three step-brothers; three step-sisters; four grandsons; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives.

Casketbearers were Marvin (Sonny) SCHACHER, Ken GNADE, Russell GNADE, Glenn RIPPETO, Eddie GNADE and Dave MERGENTHAL.
