Funeral services for Byron Woodrow HILL, of rural Moscow Mills, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 1996, at the Kemper-Marsh Funeral Home in Troy. Interment was in the Troy City Cemetery. He died early Tuesday morning, Oct 29, 1996 at his home.

Woodrow was born Nov. 10, 1912, to Charles Franklin and Julia BROWN (COTTLE) HILL. He had attained the age of 83 years, 11 months and 19 days at the time of his death.

Mr. HILL was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Carthel Hill and five sisters, Mary DYER, Annie DYER, Lucy BRADSHAW, Dixie DREYZEHNER and Venie CAPPEL.

On May 5, 1940, Woodrow was united in marriage to Abby Camille BROWN in Hannibal, Mo. To this union were born one daughter, Jo Lynn and two sons, Gary Wayne and Kent Baxter.

Mr. HILL is survived by his wife, Abby of the home; his daughter, Jo Lynn LUTZ and her husband, Irl of Boonville; his sons, Gary Wayne HILL and wife, Lynn of Troy and Kent Baxter HILL and wife, Evelyn, of Washington, Mo.; ten grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
