Obituary for Charles Heitman (1922-2002)

A Mass of Christian burial for Charles Alphonse HEITMAN, 79, of Troy, Mo., was held at 10 a.m. Aug. 21 at Sacred Heart Church in Troy. Fr. Thomas Wissler officiated. Interment with full military honors followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Mr. HEITMAN died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002 at Lincoln County Medical Center.

Born Nov. 4, 1922 in St. Louis, he was the son of Joseph A. and Albentine A. KREITLER HEITMAN.

He attended school in St. Louis. He moved to Lincoln County in1938. He was baptized Nov. 12, 1922 at the Holy Ghost Church in St. Louis. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Troy.

He served in the United States Army from May 8, 1946 until being honorably discharged on June 27, 1947. He was a school bus driver and custodian for Sacred Heart Church. He maintained the cemetery for the church. He was also a custodian at Troy Manor.

Survivors include two brothers: Louis (Doris) HEITMAN of Maryville, Tenn. and Edward HEITMAN of Independence; one sister, Rose Marie PRINSTER of O’Fallon; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clarence HEITMAN.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 20 at Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Home – Troy Chapel. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. with Tom Burkemper officiating.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund and/or Masses.
