Funeral services for Leo Anthony HARDY of Eolia were held Saturday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Elsberry. Father James Hansen officiated and burial was in the Elsberry City Cemetery.

Mr. HARDY, 82, passed away September 11, 1985 at his home. He was born February 4, 1903 in Leonard, the son of George Samuel and Apolonia PEOPLES HARDY. A 1922 graduate of Quincy College, he was past president of the Leonard Bank of Leonard, was a former insurance broker for Hartford Insurance Co., was former owner of Hardy Brothers Trucking Co. of Leonard, was past president of the cattlemen’s Association, was former owner of Wentzville Sale Auction and the Leo Hardy Livestock Commission Co. of St. Louis. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Victor HARDY.

Survivors include two sons, John HARDY and James HARDY both of St. Louis; two daughters, Annette BERRY of St. Louis and Dorothy Cecillia HENCY of Eolia, a brother, Josie HARDY of Shelbina; two sisters, Mary CLAUSSEN of Shelbyville and Laurina HILL of Brookfield, nineteen grandchildren, five great-grand-children, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

A rosary service was held Friday evening at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
