Obituary for Mrs. Susie Hammond (dates unknown)
Uncited clipping.
From the papers of Mary Omahundro Hutt Walker

Mrs. Susie HAMMOND died at the home of her son T. D. HAMMOND, in St. Louis, on the 4th inst. at the age of 86 years. The body was brought back to the home of Wm. J. HOLMES in this city, and interment was in the city cemetery from there Sunday, after funeral services, conducted by Elder S. J. Copher, of Moberly. Seventeen years ago she had Elder Copher to promise to preach her funeral should he be living at the time of her death, which promise she reminded him of the last time she saw him, about a year ago. Mrs. HAMMOND was a sister of Mrs. HOLMES. She visited here frequently, and no person ever thought more of friends than she did. Although infirm in age, and a cripple, she was always cheerful, and to hear her lighthearted talk and laughter was indeed refreshing. A good woman has gone to her reward.

[Transcriber's Note:

I found no record of her stone in the Vol 9 Lin.Co. Book, but feel she is buried in Troy City Cem. -j.g.]
