MERRITT HAMMETT

Services for Merritt Alvin HAMMETT were held at Kemper-Marsh Funeral Chapel Sunday, March 1, 1992. Mr. HAMMETT died at his home Feb. 28.

Born March 18, 1922 in rural Silex, he was the son of Joseph and Bertha IVES HAMMETT.

He was united in marriage to Darlene ZUMWALT HAMMETT Dec. 24, 1943. He lived in Lincoln County all his life where he was a farmer. He served in the United States Army during WW II.

Mr. HAMMETT is survived by his wife, Darlene; his son, De Lane and wife Debbie, of Silex, and his daughter, Bonnie ONEY and husband, David, of Troy. He is further survived by four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Velma COLBERT, of Oregon City, Ore.; a brother, Bud HAMMETT of Madras, Ore.; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; an Aunt; a special friend, Sharron BAUGHGANER; several nephews and nieces and many friends.

Preceding him in death were two grandchildren: Donnie Joe ONEY and Darren HAMMETT; his parents; two brothers; Alonzo and Slyvester HAMMETT and an infant sister, Mercedes.

Clergymen at the service were the Rev. DeLoss Goins and the Rev. Louis Hunt. Interment was in Sulphur Lick Cemetery.
