OBITUARY OF MARTHA CATHERINE GLADNEY FINLEY (1842-1914)

Mrs. Martha (Gladney) Finley, widow of the late Gilmer Finley, died on Tuesday of last week at the home of Walker Finley, near Okete, in the 90th year of her age. She received a severe fall on the ice while visiting there about Christmas, and sustained injuries from which she never recovered. Funeral services were conducted Thursday by Rev. B. D. Kennedy and her remains were interred at the Gladney graveyard. She leaves one son and four daughters, as follows:  John Gilmer Finley, Mrs. G. G. Wilson, Mrs. Cyrus Finley, Mrs. Walker Finley and Mrs. Robert Finley. Mrs. Finley’s life was a long and useful one, and she was held in high esteem by all who knew her. She had been a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church for many years.
