OBITUARY OF MARGARET ELIZABETH FINLEY FINLEY (1843-1916)
Uncited original clippings from the family archives of Frances Mitchell Houston, Troy, MO
Transcribed and Submitted by Pauline Houston Steeves

Margaret Elizabeth Finley was born July 4th 1843 in Lincoln County, Missouri. She was married in 1871 to Mr. Robert Avery Finley who preceded her to rest a number of years. She herself fell asleep the early morning of the 13th of August. Such is a brief statement of the outstanding events of a life filled with good deeds through all its years. Having joined her Saviour early in life, she followed in His footsteps all her days and went about doing good. Loyal to her church, a friend to the friendless; faithful in the house, her life was a witness to the reality of His saving grace. She leaves to her four children and to her friends a precious legacy of Christ-like character. “The righteous shall be in everlasting rememberance sic.”
