Mary Elizabeth CLARE EVERSMEYER, was born July 14, 1865, near Mackville, Lincoln County, Mo. She passed away at her home in Hawk Point, Wednesday, September 12, being 86 years, 1 month and 28 days of age.

She was the daughter of Francis Beatty and Polly GRAY CLARE. She is the last of the family of ten children. She joined the Christian Church in her youth.

On June 20th, 1890, she was married to Henry Herman EVERSMEYER, who preceded her in death on March 21, 1943. To this union of five children were born: Vira, of Hawk Point, Frank, of Troy, Earnest, of St. Louis, Ruby, now Mrs. Earnest THOMPSON, of Silex, Laura, now Mrs. Woodson COMBS, of Hoisington, Kansas.

Besides her children, she leaves two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, sixteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Kate CLARE, of Bowling Green, and one brother-in-law, Ed EVERSMEYER, of Hope, Ark., and a host of nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.

She was a person that enjoyed life and enjoyed people, especially young people. Her grandchildren were her greatest pleasure during her later years. Her home was always open to company which she so thoroughly enjoyed. Her kindliness and hospitality will be long remembered by all who were privileged to know her.
