Irl Emerson ELLIOTT, a former Sheriff and Presiding Judge of Lincoln County, passed away Thursday, September 13, 1984, at his residence following a brief illness. Funeral services for ELLIOTT, 86, were held September 16 at the McCoy & Blossom Chapel, Troy, with Kenneth LaRue officiating. Interment was in the Sulphur Lick Cemetery.

Mr. ELLIOTT served as Sheriff of Lincoln County from 1961 through 1968. Later, he was elected as the Presiding Judge in 1970 and served one term until 1974. He was a member of the Troy Odd Fellows Lodge and the Spring Creek Community Club.

ELLIOTT was born November 28, 1897 in Troy to John M. ELLIOTT and Ada Virginia WILLIAMS ELLIOTT. He is survived by his wife, Lilly (nee HAMMETT) of Troy; one son, Virgil, St. Louis; five step-daughters, Lorene MEISTER, Troy, Kathryn COBB, Overland, Mo., Glynda BACON, Camdenton, Marjorie COLVIN, Camdenton and Jean FELDERWERTH, Flint Hill; two step-sons, LeRoy BURGESS, St. Ann and Wayne BURGESS, St. Charles, four grandsons, 16 step-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home, Troy, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
